Carvoeiro is a town in the Portuguese region of Algarve. Due to heavenly sandy beaches, picturesquely surrounded by rocks and cliffs, this small fishing village transformed into a tourist resort in which visitors may find three golf courses. The coast of the town is known for the famous naval battle between the Portuguese and Turkish ships that took place in the 16th century. Today the bay is mostly used by water sports enthusiasts. Local fishermen offer also rides on their boats during which tourists may admire limestone formations and caves. Algar Seco is a natural overlook that towers over the town.
