Lake Hańcza is the deepest lake in Poland and throughout the Central European Lowland - its maximum depth reaches about 108.5 m. It lies in the Suwałki region, within the borders of the Suwałki Landscape Park. It has a glacial (gutter) origin, with crystal clear water and steep, picturesque edges. It is a popular diving place due to the depth and transparency of water, as well as an important habitat of rare fish species, among others Sow and Sielawy.
