Triglav National Park is located in the north-western part of Slovenia, in the Julian Alps. The 1600-meter-long Vintgar Gorge is situated close to Lake Bled. The name of the canyon comes from the German word for vine garden. The wild river Radovna flows at the bottom of the gorge and its foamy waters can be admired from a specially designated tourist route that passes through wooden bridges, walkways and galleries. The rocks of the gorge are overgrown with intensely green vegetation. At the end of the Vintgar there is a high waterfall called Šum.
