Shanghai is the largest and most populous city located in China on the Yangtze River. It is an important commercial, financial, industrial and transportation center. There are numerous modern skyscrapers, offices and banks in the city, however, we can also find here historical buildings, dating back to the ancient Chinese tradition. Yuyuan Garden is such a place in Shanghai as it was founded in the 16th century. This carefully cherished park gained its contemporary appearance after a major renovation in the 1950s and now it occupies the area of two hectares. In addition to an impressive collection of plants, stones of fabulous shapes and ponds, the park boasts bridges, fountains, benches, pavilions and sculptures.
