Druid Hill Park in Baltimore, in the American state of Maryland, is one of the oldest parks in the country. It was created on the land redeemed from the Indians by Lord Baltimore in 1652. Two centuries later the area was incorporated into the newly formed urban park, the foundation of which referred to the European traditions – the nineteenth-century people of the United States used to establish urban parks, making reference to the gardens popular in their former countries. Druid Hill did not deviate from this trend - full of natural streams and lakes, located in the hilly area, was enriched with gazebos and recreational facilities, serving as a favorite place of recreation for residents of Baltimore to this day.
