The Bay of Kotor is located in the southern part of Montenegro on the Adriatic Sea. Although it is located in the south of Europe, due to the rocky mountains rising up around it and the elongated shape, the bay is reminiscent of Scandinavian fjords. On the slopes of the hills surrounding the bay there are beautiful medieval and ancient towns that testify to the popularity of the region, which has been unflagging for centuries. Formerly, the local waters provided the opportunity to sail to the Adriatic Sea for commercial or fishing purposes, however, today they offer some refreshment to hundreds of thousands of tourists visiting this picturesque region of Montenegro.
