Farming is one of the most important areas of the Irish economy. Irish farms in majority cover small areas and are focused on growing cereals and potatoes as well as on breeding animals. The area that might be used for animals’ pasturage is not too large, however, it is very efficient due to favorable climate and large areas of meadows (animals may graze practically all year round). The most important breeding animals in Ireland are cattle and pigs.
