Nail polish is a cosmetic product known to all, which has a surprisingly long history. Its use in the West was popularized at the beginning of the 20th century, nevertheless, the methods of staining and polishing nails to give them a nicer look had been known earlier. In China, various nail polishes were used in 3000 BC. Painted nails were a sign of social status for many millennia there, whereas the favorite colors of the aristocrats were gold, silver and red.
