Billiard is a popular game consisting in striking billiard balls into special pockets with a use of a wooden stick. The history of billiard dates back to the fifteenth century and since that time many variations of this popular game have evolved, including snooker, Mexican pool or carom billiards. The game is played on a green baize-covered rectangular table with six holes. Pool tables are a common piece of the equipment in arcades, clubs and pubs, nevertheless, if housing conditions allow it people may buy their own table.
