Well-organized and smoothly functioning public transport is one of the essential conditions for the optimum development of this great city. The system of public transport in Moscow consists of metro, buses, trolley buses, trams and suburban railway, which is also called the light metro due to the fact that it is as fast as the metro, but the trains travel above the ground. Metro and suburban rail are the fastest and most punctual means of public transport, whereas buses and trolley buses – due to large traffic – are judged as the worst.
