Landshut is a German city located in Bavaria on the river Isar. Its name can be translated literally as "the land protector", however, it is called more often "the city of three helmets", which are the main motif of the city’s crest. The city was founded in the beginning of 19th century together with the Trausnitz castle that was situated on the hill over the Old Town. The St. Martin and Kastulus basilica with the highest brick tower in the world is one of the most precious monuments of Landshut. The tower is over 130m high.
