Port Isaac is an old village located on the Atlantic coast. The majority of the buildings in the centre of the village date back to the 18th and 19th centuries. They are situated on green and very steep hills. There are characteristic narrow streets leading up the hill – the best known is the Temple Bar, which is commonly called “Squeeze-ee-Belly Alley”. It is best to visit the fishing villages of northern Cornwall in autumn and winter, when the visits of tourists are not that frequent and visitors may stroll along the coast, enjoy marvelous landscapes as well as eat fresh fish and seafood. It is worth knowing that Port Isaac was the setting of the well-known British comedy series titled “Doc Martin”.
