Terena is a small Portuguese town, located near the Spanish border, in the historic province of Alentejo. The town is also called São Pedro and São Pedro de Terena. The origin of the town dates back to the 12th-13th century and for that reason there are quite many historic monuments, including the 13th-century castle situated on the hill, Church of Divine Mercy from the 16th century and the 18th-century Old Town Hall. There is also Endovelicus sancturary nearby. Historic climate of Terena is emphasized by narrow stone cobbled streets and whitened walls of buildings.
