One of the most beautiful places in Potsdam is the impressive Sanssouci Park, covering the area of nearly three hundred acres. In the park there are many buildings of great historic significance. The summer residence of Frederick the Great, i.e. the Rococo Sanssouci Palace, is the most important monument of the park. Among the carefully manicured gardens, referring to the French Baroque style, we can find several architectural objects from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, including the New Orangery, Neptune Grotto, Temple of Friendship, Roman baths complex and the Church of Peace. The buildings surround flower lawns, statues, fountains and ponds. The multi-step stairs leading to the largest buildings located in the park are also worth noticing.
