Brabo fountain in Antwerp (Belgium) online puzzle
Antwerp is a beautiful Belgian city located in the north of the country. An elaborate fountain from 1887 that depicts a mythical Roman soldier – Silvius Brabo, is situated at the Antwerp Great Market in front of the city hall. This legendary warrior is famous for killing a monster Druon Antigoon, who exacted a toll from those crossing the river, for those who refused he severed one of their hands. When a brave soldier fought the monster he also cut off its hand. Brabo’s statue atop the fountain depicts him when he attempts to throw the severed hand of Antigoon into the Scheldt river.
