San Francisco is an American city in the state of California, it is situated on the Pacific Ocean. Due to its location, the city is surrounded by beaches and cliffs. Part of the coast of San Francisco belonged to the army that used to station here. The city has retained its port character, as evidenced by the presence of warehouses and a port terminal. The bay in the city has been arranges in a special way. Particularly worthy of notice are piers, i.e. artificial peninsulas or jetties, where ships were moored and transshipped. Currently, some of them are a tourist attraction and a kind of seaside pedestrian zone. Pier 7 is often visited by anglers.
