Frankfurt am Main is a big German city located at the foot of the Taunus mountain range. Frankfurt, due to its location in the central-southern part of the country and in the center of Europe, is an important transportation hub and a commercial, industrial and scientific center. Due to a large number of skyscrapers Frankfurt is sometimes called Mainhattan. This term refers to New York's Manhattan and the German name of the river Main. Illuminated skyscrapers, including the 300-meter Commerzbank Tower, can be admired from one of the bridges over the river.
