Small country of Bhutan is located in the eastern part of the Himalayas, between Tibet and India. There are many temples and Buddhist monasteries in this country, among which Taktsang Monastery - also known as Tiger's Nest, is a well-known tourist attraction. The temple complex was built in the 17th century and is the holiest place for locals. It is also a destination for pilgrims from around the world. It was built over 3,000 meters above the sea level on a steep cliff. According to local legends, Guru Rinpoche landed on a nearly vertical rock, riding on the back of a tigress.
