The Czech capital situated on the river Vltava is a beautiful city full of historic monuments. Notable places in Prague's Old Town include the City Hall, the seventeenth-century Jesuit college and a few Gothic churches. Nevertheless, the 516-meter Charles Bridge is the most important monument of Prague, which is simply adored by tourists. It is the most famous bridge in Europe – its construction was completed in the fifteenth century. The stone bridge, which is now open only to pedestrian traffic, spans the Old Town with the left bank district of Malá Strana. Both ends of the bridge are protected by characteristic towers. The Charles Bridge is located between the Mánes and Legion Bridges.
