Indianapolis is the capital of the state of Indiana located in the eastern part of the United States. The city was founded in the 19th century and began to develop rapidly as the main industrial center in the region. This position has been maintained until today, however, trading in cattle and grain is currently the main branch of the Indianapolis economy. The agricultural character of the region is reflected in the annual Indianapolis 500 race taking place on the local racetrack – its winner, instead of a bottle of champagne, receives a bottle of milk on the podium.
