The royal palace of Tirta Gangga is located on the Bali island of Indonesia. Its name literally means "Water from the Ganges", the river which is considered sacred in this place. This unusual architectural complex consists mainly of numerous pools and ponds, fountains and manicured gardens decorated with stone carvings. You can take a purifying bath for a small fee in some of the pools, which is an additional attraction for tourists. The water palace is situated on three large terraces and was built in 1946 on the initiative of the King of Karangasem.
