Big Ben is one of the most characteristic landmarks in the center of London. The name refers to both: the whole clock tower as well as to the clock itself and also to the bell that is in the tower. The clock tower was built in 19th century (in neo-Gothic style) after the Great Fire. The foundations of the tower are 3 meters thick. The tower itself is over 96 meters high. It is accessible through the spiral stairs, which count 334 steps. There is an incredible view on the center of London from the top of the tower.
