Spaghetti, apart from pizza, is the most popular Italian dish, which is known throughout the world. It is a simple combination of pasta and sauce, which is usually prepared with tomatoes. Nevertheless, spaghetti is a dish of regional cuisine, therefore there are as many variations of this dish as Italian provinces. Various types of spaghetti differ of course in additives, which are used to prepare the sauce. In some areas it will be tomatoes with fresh basil and parmesan, in other regions cream sauce with fried bacon or minced meat will be used, whereas in coastal regions – seafood. However, regardless of the sauce ingredients, the homemade Italian pasta, made of proper kinds of flour, is the most important.
