Lake of Carezza (Italy) online puzzle
Carezza is a small lake in South Tirol in the Dolomites. This picturesque body of water flickers with dozens of colors in the sun and for that reason it is also called the Rainbow Lake. According to a local legend, the lake used to be inhabited by a singing mermaid a bad sorcerer fell in love with. Not knowing how to win her heart he had gone to an old witch who told him to disguise as a jewels merchant and make a rainbow from them – the rainbow was supposed connect the lake with his castle in the mountains. The sorcerer listened to the witch’s advice but he forgot about the disguise. When the mermaid saw him she hid in the depth of the lake for good – the furious sorcerer destroyed the rainbow and threw its smashed pieces to the lake, which has been flickering colorfully ever since.
