Dalmatia is a geographical region located in the west of Croatia along the coast of the Adriatic Sea. The region is exceptional due to a large number of small elongated islands, which are located perpendicularly to the coastline. Due to the specific nature of Dalmatia, the name “Dalmatian coastline” is applied to all formations of that kind. The region is characteristic not only for the multitude of picturesque islands or the view of the mountains, which seem to grow straight from the sea, but also for the uniquely clean coastal waters, which Jacques Cousteau – a well-known writer and sea explorer, considered as the cleanest waters in the world.
