Waterfalls are formed when the river water flows vertically from the rocky threshold. The 979-meter Salto Angel in Venezuela is the highest waterfall in the world, but the one on the Niagara River is the biggest tourist attraction. It is located on the border between the United States and Canada. However, there are plenty of small waterfalls all over the world, which sometimes create breathtaking cascades. Picturesque waterfalls present themselves most beautifully when they are surrounded by unspoiled nature: mountain streams, mossy boulders and forests.
