Tomatoes should be eaten quite often as they are a valuable source of vitamins C and E, beta-carotene, lycopene and potassium. When buying them you should pay attention whether they have an intense color and flavor - then you may be sure that the vegetables are ripe. There are different varieties of tomatoes on the market, they differ in shape, size and hue. One of such varieties the so called “Buffalo Heart” with large, fleshy fruits of a raspberry color and characteristic "fins". Some tomato species have a specific, elongated shape. A seller may advise us which tomatoes will taste best in a soup, sauce, salad or on a sandwich.
