The mountains belong to the Zhangye Danxia Landform Geological Park, which covers an area of over 40 square kilometers. In 2010, this area was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Four viewing platforms were built in the park, the distance between them is 8 kilometers. This allows you to admire these stunning rock formations from different perspectives. On each platform, we have unlimited time to soak up the phenomenal views. Some peaks in the rainbow mountains are over several hundred meters high, but the smooth and steep rock slopes make it impossible to climb.
