The coast of Sicily is typical for other Mediterranean islands. On their example the two areas of the island’s economy are clearly visible: tourism and fishing. Vessels moored by piers are both small and big fishing boats, as well as boats that are used for transporting tourists. Some of the coastal building serve the function of storehouses, sorting plants and fish processing plants, whereas others are hotels, bars and cafes.
