Đurđević Bridge (Montenegro) online puzzle
Despite the fact that the concrete bridge on the river Tara was built in 1940, it is still impressive in terms of size. It was built in the deepest canyon of Europe – the Tara Canyon located in the Durmitor National Park. The bridge is 365 meters long, whereas its height above the water surface reaches 172 meters. During World War II it was blown up by its constructor, Lazar Jauković, in order to block the advancement of the Italian forces. It was a courageous deed, however, Jauković paid the highest price and died while blowing up the bridge.
