Verona is the Italian city located on the River Adige and the capital of the province of the same name. Romeo and Juliet, the characters from William Shakespeare’s drama, came from Verona. The city is visited by numerous tourists at any season of the year. There are many attractions awaiting them, such as the amphitheatre (so called Arena), Roman theatre, the rebuilt ancient Pietra Bridge, gates and city wall from the times of the Roman Empire as well as the 12th century constructions such as Basilca of San Zeno and the Cathedral (Italian: Cattedrale di Santa Maria Matricolare) and other churches. A number of beautiful buildings, fountains, statues and other architectonic constructions come from the subsequent years, which may be divided into certain epochs – the Della Scala family epoch, Venetian epoch or Austrian epoch. Torre dei Lamberti with four bells is the 84-meter belfry dominating the city landscape. Those who are in love willingly visit the house of Romeo and Juliet with the famous balcony as well as the tomb of the girl, which can be found in San Francesco al Corso church.
