Sapporo lies on the Japanese island of Hokkaido. It is a large winter sports resort with quite many facilities, among them the ski jumps. The representative Odori Park is located in the center of the city and it hosts all kinds of events and celebrations, including the famous Snow Festival, dance festivals and marathons. The areas of the park are adorned with carefully cultivated urban greenery, fountains and statues, as well as numerous species of flowers. In the vicinity of the park there is also the 150-meter Sapporo TV Tower as well as numerous beer gardens.
