Bangkok is the capital of Thailand, as well as a huge industrial, commercial, financial and scientific center. The city is divided into 50 districts and lies in the south of the country, on the river Chao Phraya. It is a thriving metropolis, which has several modern urban clusters. The Baiyoke Tower, which - along with the antenna - measures 328 meters, is the highest building in Bangkok. There are many skyscrapers in the city. Most of them reaches the height of more than a hundred and fifty, and some even more than two hundred meters. A large number of cars, which contribute to heavy air pollution and traffic congestion, is a big problem of the city.
