Havana is the capital of Cuba located on the Gulf of Mexico. The city is filled with precious architectural monuments and magical places. The beautiful church of St Francis is certainly the edifice that attracts attention. The building was built in the 17th century as a hospital for women and a chapel. It was destroyed during the hurricane in 1730, then it was rebuilt in the Baroque style. The church was built on a Latin cross plan and has a characteristic dome. In 2000 the church underwent a complete renovation. The temple has hosted exhibitions and concerts of classical music for several years.
