A picturesque village of Fontenay-Saint-Père is located in the region of Île-de-France, in the department of Yvelines. St. Dionysius is the patron saint of the village – he was a martyr who lived in the third century. Visitors to Fontenay-Saint-Père can stay in one of several cozy guesthouses. Most of the buildings in the village were built of stone, as well as fences that are overgrown with dense green ivy. Jean-Martial Fredou, the famous eighteenth-century painter was born in Fontenay-Saint-Père. The village is situated in the Natural Regional Park of Vexin.
