San Gimignano is an Italian town located between Florence and Siena in central Tuscany. During a visit to this charming Italian town it is worth taking a trip to Piazza della Cisterna, a triangular square around which you will find historic tenement houses and medieval quadrangular towers and town gates. The name of the square comes from the underground water cistern built in 1287. The travertine well comes from the first half of the 14th century.
