Stradun is the main street of Dubrovnik, which is always full of life. This elegant promenade with plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes, is located in the old town. The name of the street was coined by the Venetians. The limestone-paved pedestrian street is visited daily by several thousand people and at its both end there are gates. Near the street there are the Franciscan monastery with a high bell tower. At the eastern end of Stradun there is the fifteenth-century Small Onofrio's Fountain, whereas at the other end the Large Onofrio's Fountain is located.
