Moroccan mosaic online puzzle

Moroccan decorations made of small fragments covered with enamel or tiles painted in different colors are called Zellige. Mosaics are laid on a gypsum-based construction material, usually creating intricate, geometric patterns, eye-catching with a variety of intense colors. Such decorations became popular in Morocco mostly thanks to Islam, which forbade the creation of images depicting God, and even people, animals or certain objects. Today mosaics decorate not only fences, façades or interiors of mosques, but also stairs, benches, backyard pools and everyday objects. The latter ones are often bought by tourists arriving to Morocco as an attractive souvenir of exotic holidays.
