Barcelona is located on the Mediterranean Sea in north-eastern Spain. The wide, palm-lined avenue of Passeig de Colom, running to the east of the monument of Christopher Columbus is one of the most charming and attractive places in this big city. This road, leading along Port Vell, or Old Harbort, was put into use in 1878. Currently, there is not only a marina on the quay, but also an oceanarium, cinema, museums and numerous shops and cafes.
