Blois is a town in central France on the river Loire. According to the findings of archaeologists, settlements have existed in this territory since ancient times, but the remains of the town's infrastructure date back to the 3rd century AD. Despite its small size Blois used to be the seat of the kings of France for many centuries and for that reason a monumental castle towering over the town was erected. However, Blois is known not only for the castle but the entire old town, which has characteristic buildings with sandy facades and gray roofs. Among other edifices that are worth noticing it is a must to mention churches, the town hall, the bridge on the Loire and the beautiful bourgeois houses.
