Hallstatt is an Austrian town, which is picturesquely located in the Salzburg Slate Alps, by the Lake Hallstatt. The town is a fragment of the Salzkammergut region, which is enlisted of the UNESCO World Heritage Site List. The Hallstatt buildings are typical of the Austrian Alpine architecture. There is an excavation site, researching the Hallstatt culture of the Iron Age. There are old salt mines situated near Hallstatt.
