Rattray Head is the headland near the town of Buchan on the north-eastern coast of Scotland. The headland is famous mostly for the lighthouse situated on it. The lighthouse was built towards the end of 19th century. The lighthouse, which is 36.5 meters high, is located on the dyke that is covered by the sea during rising tides. The lighthouse serves its function until the present day (since 1982 it has been fully automatic).
