Urquhat Castle, which was erected over the Loch Ness, is al most 800 years old. It was built to serve the function of a defensive fortress. Today it is in ruin, however, it is unusually beautiful. The courtyard is the highest part of the castle and it is possible to see breathtaking views from this place. A well-known legend holds that the most famous monster of Scotland - Nessie - lives in a cave beneath the ruins. Only the legend itself attracts millions of tourists to the Loch Ness.
