Aromatic, fresh bagels, rolls, brioches and baguettes are inseparable ingredients of a nutritious breakfast. There are light and dark kinds of bread, prepared with yeast or sourdough. Wholemeal bread and rolls, baked from whole-wheat flour and filled with additives such as sunflower, pumpkin, linseed and soy seeds have become very popular recently. Despite a wide range of cereal products available in stores, some people still prefer homemade bread products. Bread is sometimes sprinkled with poppy seeds, sesame seeds or grains or a blend of fine herbs. Flour products form the basis of many regional cuisines and are considered to be true delicacies. These include such products as Italian breadsticks called grissini or French croissants.
