River Jordan online puzzle
The Jordan River is an Asian river, the source of which is in Lebanon. It flows through Syria, Israel, Jordan and runs into the Dead Sea. The river is over 250 kilometers long and it flows through the rift valley called the Jordan Valley. This shallow river is extremely important for the desert and the local agriculture. It is also very significant for Christians as it has been mentioned many times in the Bible. According to the Bible, Jesus Christ was baptized in its waters by John the Baptist. The saint was baptizing numerous sinners in the river – those who wanted to convert. It was believed that the waters of the river have the healing power, which forgives sins, and immersing in the water symbolizes the beginning of a new life. Today the faithful may renew the sacrament of baptism in the river, get some water to a bottle or even immerse the whole body in the river.
