Japanese-style gardens are distinguished by their simplicity and unpretentious elegance. Human interference in the arranged space should be barely perceptible. The harmony of individual elements is based on the concept of landscape in miniature, where not only plants, but also water bodies and rocks, represented mostly by stones, small hills or cascades. The whole is complemented by wooden, arched bridges and traditional ishi-dōrō, i.e. Japanese stone lanterns.
