Lake Bâlea (Romania) online puzzle
Bâlea is a large body of water of post-glacial origin located in the Făgăras Mountains at an altitude of 2,034 meters above sea level. There are mountain hostels and hotels visited by tourists all year round, as well as a meteorological station. There is also the famous Transfăgărășan road near the lake, stretching between the two highest peaks of the Romanian Southern Carpathians, Moldoveanu and Negoiu. The lake covers an area of 4.65 hectares and is up to 11 meters deep. The area around the lake is a nature reserve.
