Utrecht is the capital and most populous city in the Dutch province of Utrecht. The city is located on the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal and is an important metallurgical, tourist and scientific center. The University of Utrecht was established in 1623. There are also a Polish military cemetery, Gothic and Roman churches and modernistic Rietveld’s House in the city. The Cathedral of St. Martin is the most representative historic building of Utrecht. The temple has the tower called Domtoren, which is 113 meters high, with as many as fourteen bells. There is a beautiful view from this 14th century construction, which has also been provided with special viewing platforms.
