Tel Aviv is the city in Israel located at the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, on the Sharon Plain. It is also the capital of one of six Israeli districts, which has the same name. The Tel Aviv District includes the agglomeration of Gush Dan, which is densely populated. The city of Ramat Gan is located in the Gush Dan metropolitan area. Initially, there were moshavot (rural settlements) and gardens, however, during World War II the city was gradually developing thanks to the Jewish immigrants. There are many parks and gardens in contemporary Ramat Gan (including the Ramat Gan National Park), however, the city’s landscape is dominated by skyscrapers and other modern buildings. The 244-meter Moshe Aviv Tower is the highest skyscraper. The city boasts the Chaim Sheba Medical Center, university, Diamond Exchange and a football stadium.
