Yokohama is a large Japanese city as well as an industrial and transportation center. It is located in the island of Honshu. The modern district called Minato Mirai 21 (“The Port of Future 21”) was built within the large urban investment. The construction of the district began in 1983. Ten years later the 296-meter Yokohama Landmark Tower was finished and commissioned. There are also futuristic shopping, entertainment and conference centers in Minato Mirai. A giant Ferris wheel called Cosmo Clock 21 is an attraction of the district. Some scenes of the film titled Godzilla vs. Mothra were shot in Minato Mirai.
